A Second Chance...

You don't have to live very long to get a sense that you blew it. Whether you let someone down or didn't do a particular thing you know you should have, there are times in life when you know you just don't "measure up." It's in these moments that you wish you could take a mulligan.

Even though the term "mulligan" originated as a golf term, it has much broader implications. In golf, a mulligan is a replayed stroke (against the rules) an opponent allows a competitor to take. It's an act of unmerited grace that is granted in order to repair an otherwise non-repairable circumstance. The opponent does not owe it to the competitor, he gladly grants it.

God offered us life's greatest mulligan through the death of His Son, Jesus, so that by believing in Him, we could be restored to a perfect relationship with God and seen as perfect in His eyes.
