Here We Go!

Dear Mulligan Society,

It's hard for me to believe that an entire year has passed and I'm hitting the road again for an exciting summer of FCA Golf Camps. As I write this post, I'm in route to Indiana for our very first camp of the season.  FCA Golf's Indiana Camp is one of the oldest in the country--and I couldn't be more excited for it!

This year's camp will again take place at Indiana Golf's Gongaware Junior Golf Academy in Franklin, IN from Sunday, June 9th to Thursday, Jun 13th.

We have made a few minor changes to this camp--and I expect to see awesome results from them!

The first change is that all of our Huddle Leaders (our camp counselor staff) for the week will be made up of FCA Golf's Mission 4:33 (if you can't remember what Mission 4:33 is all about, click the link and read my post from last year). In short, Mission 4:33 is a team of college golfers who have raised funds (much like a mission trip) to serve as huddle leaders at FCA Golf camps all across the nation this coming summer.  Needless to say, this is a very committed and passionate group of students who will be committing their summer to youth ministry through the game of golf.  The team will be arriving tomorrow for extensive training with me and a coworker of mine before camp begins Sunday.  After serving together in Indiana this next week, these students will spread out across the country for the remainder of the summer at other FCA Golf Camps.

The second change we've made is inviting Adam Agee, lead singer of the Christian rock band Stellar Kart, to lead our music for the week at camp.  Adam is a gifted musician and golfer—who does a fantastic job connecting with teens and pushing them toward Christ.  Adam has agreed to do a solo concert at camp this year on Sunday night, June 9th.  The long term vision for this partnership is that we would have a full band concert (in conjunction with this camp) in the years to come (as an outreach to the entire Indianapolis, IN area).

Your prayers for this camp and all the others are much appreciated as we head into the summer months!  Please take a look at FCA's summer golf camp schedule below and join us in praying for all of these camps, directors, staff and campers!

Thank you for your support and interest in FCA Golf.  We couldn't do it without you!!

FCA Golf's IRONMAN Golf Marathon

Dear Mulligan Society,

On Monday, February 11th, I will join 39 others in playing 100 holes of golf in a single day.  Does it sound like I'm crazy? Absolutely!!  I'm crazy about helping FCA Golf accomplish its goal of raising $100,000 in a single day to impact the lives of countless aspiring young golfers!

We all know that no athlete or athletic team has ever achieved their goal of victory by working alone.  Every successful effort requires a game plan and teamwork.  Certainly the same applies to the lives of young people.  If they are going to "win" in life, we must all work together for them and with them.  This is what FCA Golf's 2013 IRONMAN Golf Marathon is all about (view the IRONMAN flyer).

Similar to a walk-a-thon, the IRONMAN Golf Marathon provides you a unique opportunity to invest in the lives of thousands of aspiring young golfers by partnering with me in my efforts to play 100 holes for them.  Would you consider sponsoring me at 25 cents per hole ($25) or even $1 per hole ($100)?

By partnering with me, you can ensure that FCA Golf:

  • Positively influences over 2,500 aspiring young golfers through camps, breakfasts and GAMEDAY events
  • Continues to grow the Nancy Warner Scholarship Endowment in order to provide funding for campers who would otherwise be unable to attend an FCA Golf Camp
  • Supports a part time staff member in Ponte Vedra Beach to assist with camps, administration and programming
Between now and February 11th, I've set my goal at $5,000. Would you consider helping me get there?  No gift of support is too small.  I encourage you to visit my fundraising page for this effort and keep track of my progress.

Thank you for your partnership in impacting the lives of aspiring young golfers for Christ!
